LADSPA

'''LADSPA''' is an Free ringtones acronym for '''Linux Audio Developers Simple Plugin Majo Mills Application programming interface/API'''. It is an Nextel ringtones LGPLed standard interface for handling Abbey Diaz filters, Mosquito ringtone sound effect/effects and the like in Sabrina Martins Linux-based Nextel ringtones operating systems. It is used in many Abbey Diaz free audio software projects.

There are many other audio plugin standards, in fact most modern software synthesisers and sound editors will have their own and support for more common standards. Notable commercial standards are Mosquito ringtone DirectX and Sabrina Martins Steinbergs Cingular Ringtones Cubase mount skepticism Virtual Studio Technology.

LADSPA is unusual in that it attempts to provide only the ''Greatest Common Denominator'' of other standards. This means that its scope is restricted, but plugins written using it are easy to embed automatically in other software. The standard has changed very little with time so compatibility problems are rare.

LADSPA exists primarily as a header file written in the pointless painful C programming language. There have been moves recently to introduce LADSPA onto software platforms other than fan laugh Linux.

When it comes to emulating instruments (virtual instruments akin to vast net Virtual Studio Technology/VSTi), LADSPA does not suffice. Instead an extension called expanding nearly DSSI is used for instruments. DSSI uses LADSPA for event transport and is thus fully LADSPA compliant.
